Shiny Chandeliers for the She Shed

Shiny Chandeliers, shiny chandeliers, shiny chandelier for the she shed!  I did it!  Just kidding, but as I was writing this I thought it was funny.   So first of all, I must tell you my little chandelier story.  I have been looking for two matching chandelier’s for over a year and a half! I’m stubborn when It comes to finding what I want.  I get a picture of what I’m thinking of and I am determined to find it.  Of course I’m looking for a deal also.  So anyway, after my long search I finally found two identical chandeliers on Facebook marketplace, whoo hoo!  They were asking $100 for both, which is a steal considering they can go for around $300 each.  These chandeliers came out of a home near Detroit.  Detroit area homes have such amazing character.

The only issue with the chandeliers is that the crystals kept falling off and the brass looked dingy.  There was drywall dust and mud all over them also.  No biggie since now I get to use the secret weapon I learned about while working on the main chandelier in the she shed.

THE MAGICAL CONCOCTION

WD40, Small cup, Small paint brush

THE PROCESS:

First, wipe away as much dust and grime as you can.  I used a microfiber cloth so I wouldn’t lose anymore crystals or scratch the finish.  Then pour a little WD40 in the disposable cup, you won’t need much.  Dip the brush into the WD40 and tap off the excess.  Brush all the brass parts of the chandelier.   Leave the WD40 on the brass so it can work.

You can start to see the difference right away.  I was shocked the first time I did this and saw how shiny it became. I thought I would be working at this for a long time.

The chandeliers will be going on either side of the main big chandelier in the she shed.  We still have to add electrical to the ceiling so it will take some time before I can show you them hanging in their new home.

Perhaps you have a brass piece that could use some shining up.  Hardware, candlesticks, picture frames, knick knacks to name a few.  Glad to be able to share my shiny chandelier with you!  Till next time….
